The Frederick Ashton Foundation

Scope of work:

Client Brief

The Frederick Ashton Foundation approached me to redesign their website, as the existing website had become outdated and difficult to navigate. The client required a modern, user-friendly website that could support the Foundation’s mission of preserving and promoting Frederick Ashton’s legacy.

One of the key challenges was organising and presenting an extensive archive of Frederick Ashton’s work, educational resources and event information. The website needed a clear content hierarchy and intuitive navigation to allow users to explore a large volume of material without feeling overwhelmed.

The client also requested an interactive calendar to clearly display events throughout the year, as well as a seamless and user-friendly donation system to support the Foundation’s ongoing work.

Given the scale and cultural importance of the project, a strong focus was placed on user journey and flow, ensuring that content was accessible and easy to discover. The overall visual direction needed to feel elegant and refined, reflecting the heritage of ballet while offering a contemporary digital experience.
